82-year-old Rockford man dead after fire

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) - An 82-year-old man died following a fire in Rockford on Monday night.

The Winnebago County Coroner’s Office was informed by the Rockford Fire Department of a death at 1724 12th Ave. at 9:40 p.m. The victim was found in the apartment.

The death is under investigation by the Rockford Fire Department. An autopsy is pending by the Winnebago County Coroner’s Office. Toxicology tests will be available in approximately three weeks.
