ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) - One location organization is pitching in to help the cause in bringing body-cameras to the Rockford Police Department.

Rev. Stephen Bowie and Rev. Julane Nease with Northwest Neighbors were at Rockford City Hall Thursday to present a check for $500 from Northwest Neighbors, Inc. to go toward the purchase of body-worn cameras for the Rockford Police Department.

Rockford Mayor Tom McNamara received the check, as well as Assistant Deputy Chiefs Kurt Whisenand and Carla Redd with the Rockford Police Department.

“The goal of Northwest Neighbors, Inc. is to create a more abundant life for people living in the northwest quadrant of the city,” Rev. Bowie said. “We participate in conversations about health care, the availability of public and private businesses, education and recreation.”
