Illinois COVID-19 hospital admissions have increased for four straight weeks. The Illinois Department of Public Health continues to urge people to get up-to-date on COVID-19 and flu vaccines to prevent serious illness.

In a press release, the health department says less than 50 percent of the eligible population in Winnebago County is vaccinated and that makes for a “substantial” risk for transmission of COVID-19 among the unvaccinated and children under the age of 12.
